Kevin Baker for judge

Kevin Baker is City Attorney for Charleston where he manages the legal work of the City tirelessly with the utmost integrity. Kevin is married to Sarah K. Brown and they are the proud parents of Wesley, Josephine, and Harriet Baker, who all attend Kanawha County public schools.
Kevin was born and raised in Beckley, West Virginia. He is a graduate of Wesleyan University and the Washington College of Law at American University.
As City Attorney, he manages claims and litigation against the City, prosecutes misdemeanor offenses in municipal court, oversees all freedom of information requests to the City, and provides legal advice to the Mayor, City Council, and all City department heads.
Kevin began his legal career as a law clerk for Judge Joseph R. Goodwin of the Southern District of West Virginia and then co-founded Baker & Brown, PLLC, where he focused his legal practice on consumer, employee, labor, criminal, and civil rights law.
Kevin then worked for the West Virginia Senate Judiciary Committee and later served as Counsel to the Senate Minority Leader.
Kevin has dedicated his life to public service and has the experience needed to be an impartial and fair judge to all who find themselves in the Circuit Court of Kanawha County.
In his free time, Kevin devotes countless hours to the West Side Soccer Association working with young people in Charleston to foster a love of soccer and make the sport more accessible.
